Delhi · Agra · Mathura and Vrindavan
Trip overview
This private day trip from Delhi pairs Agra's Mughal monuments with the temple towns of Mathura and Vrindavan, the birthplace of Lord Krishna. You start before sunrise and reach the Taj Mahal, when the marble is at its softest glow. After experiencing beauty of Taj Mahal visit Agra Fort and enjoy breakfast and drive to Mathura for the Shri Krishna Janmasthan temple complex, then continue to Vrindavan for evening darshan at Prem Mandir and Banke Bihari Temple. The day ends with the drive back to Delhi.
The route is planned around temple hours, not just driving distances. Most Vrindavan temples close for several hours in the afternoon and reopen in the evening, so the schedule puts Agra in the morning and the temples in the late afternoon. It is a long day, roughly 14 to 15 hours, and it suits travellers who want both heritage and devotion in a single trip.

Good to know
Yes, if you start early. Mathura and Vrindavan sit between Delhi and Agra on the Yamuna Expressway, so they fall naturally on the return route.
Most Vrindavan temples, including Banke Bihari and Prem Mandir, close for a few hours in the afternoon and reopen in the late afternoon or early evening. The schedule works around those hours.
Wear modest clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. You'll remove your shoes before entering, so slip-on footwear helps.
Photography is not allowed in some shrines, including the inner sanctum of Banke Bihari Temple. Security at Shri Krishna Janmasthan is tight, and phones and bags are usually not permitted inside.
It's a long day with a lot of walking, and Vrindavan's lanes get crowded. For seniors, we usually suggest an overnight version with a night in Agra or Vrindavan.
Any day except Friday, when the Taj Mahal is closed. Weekdays are calmer in Vrindavan, as weekends and festivals bring large crowds.
