Delhi · Agra · Taj Mahal
Trip overview
This private day tour from Delhi combines two very different experiences. In the morning you see the Taj Mahal at sunrise. In the afternoon you meet rescued elephants at the Elephant Conservation and Care Centre, run by the charity Wildlife SOS near Mathura. Many of the elephants living there once worked in circuses, carried tourists or begged on city streets. Many arrived injured, underweight or partly blind. Today they live in a peaceful, hands-off sanctuary, where they get veterinary care, a healthy diet and room to behave like elephants again.
You won't ride or bathe the elephants here. Instead, you watch them from a respectful distance during their daily walks and feeding times, while the care team tells you each elephant's story and explains how the centre works. The tour suits families, animal lovers and responsible travellers who want their trip to India to do some good.

Good to know
It is in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, on the Delhi–Agra highway, about an hour's drive from Agra. That makes it easy to combine with a Taj Mahal trip.
Wildlife SOS, an Indian non-profit organisation that rescues and rehabilitates wildlife, runs the centre. It cares for elephants rescued from circuses, begging, tourist rides and other forms of abuse.
No. The centre is hands-off, so there's no riding, bathing or direct contact. Visitors watch the elephants from a safe distance, which keeps both people and animals safe and lets the elephants behave naturally.
The elephants aren't made to perform or give rides. Visitor fees go toward their care, food and medical treatment, and the visit teaches guests about the welfare problems captive elephants face.
Yes. Visits must be booked ahead of time, and we handle the booking for you when you reserve the tour.
Yes. Children usually love the elephant visit, and it's a gentle way to teach them about kindness to animals. A parent or guardian must stay with them at all times.
